A YouTube channel that goes by the name of Mrwhosetheboss did an excellent review on the Ramos MOS1 Max. He highlighted both the pros and cons of the said device. Check the details here.
The Price Tag
The original price of the Ramos MOS1 Max is $460. However, due to curious recent price cuts, the retail price of this smartphone dropped to $120. It is not really clear as to why, because there are only a number of reports that featured this smartphone. What we do know is that it has been discontinued and the company who created this amazing smartphone is selling it for a price that is pretty much a steal once you get to know its specs and features.
The Body Design
The Ramos MOS1 Max is an all-metal massive smartphone. It has a body dimension of 89.3 x 176 x 7.98 mm and weighs 230 grams. Though it is large, you will also find that it isn't exactly that thick of a smartphone. Yes, using it with one hand only is out of the question and you might need to resort to one hand to hold the phone, and the other hand to operate it.
The Ramos MOS1 Max comes in a variety of color casing designs: Gray, Silver, Champagne, and Rose Gold. Its texture feels of high quality and is quite smooth to touch. It also has a decent amount of grip to it, unlike other high-end smartphones. All in all, in terms of design, this smartphone feels very premium.
Display
The Ramos MOS1 Max features a massive 6.44-inch IPS Touchscreen with a screen resolution of 1080 x 1920 pixels and a PPI of 342. Regarding its screen quality, the colors are not that great, but the contrast ratio is impressive. So it's kind of a 50/50 thing.
Platform
The Ramos MOS1 Max runs on Android 5.1 Lollipop and is powered by a MediaTek MT6753 chip. For its software performance, surprisingly, it offers a smooth experience. The platform specification does keep it snappy and quite responsive nonetheless. But of course, it is not enough to top the benchmarks.
And for its game performance, it is also capable of running games smoothly. The only downfall of this smartphone is that it does not play a full frame rate on every single game. But considering it is only $120, we can accept that, right?
Internal Memory
The Ramos MOS1 Max features an internal memory storage of 32 GB partnered with 3 GB of RAM. And unfortunately, this smartphone does not have an expandable memory option via a microSD card.
Camera
The Ramos MOS1 Max features a 13 MP snapper and shoots 1080@30fps for video. For its performance, details are awesome, depth is good, colors lack a little vibrancy but can be tweaked out a little afterward, and the shutter speed is extremely fast.
On the front, the Ramos MOS1 Max features a 8 MP camera. Regarding its camera performance, it isn't bad, but the video recording is terrible.
Battery
The Ramos MOS1 Max is powered by a massive 6010 mAh battery. Packed with this battery capacity, its large screen, and power-hungry components is nothing and can make give it a battery life that could last up to 2 full days.
The Verdict
If the Ramos MOS1 Max maintained its $460 price tag, it is not worth buying. But because it is now $120 with only limited stocks available (the company that created this discontinued making it), I personally recommend buying this device if you're looking a premium-looking budget smartphone.
