Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 vs Samsung Galaxy J7 Prime Speed Test Review

A YouTube channel that goes by the name NS Review did a quick speed test review with the Xiaomi Redi Note 4 and the Samsung Galaxy J7 Prime.

Overview Of Specs

The Xiaomi Redi Note 4 runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow and is packed with the Mediatek MT6797 Helio X20 chip. Its CPU is a Deca-core 2.1 GHz processor, while its GPU is the Mali-T880 MP4. It has an internal memory of 16 GB with 2 GB of RAM for its standard edition and 64 GB with 3 GB on its high edition. It also has a memory expandability option of up to 256 GB.

The Samsung Galaxy J7 Prime runs on Android 6.0.1 and sports the Exynos 7870 Octa chipset. The CPU its packing is an Octa-core 1.6 GHz Cortex-A53 and the GPU is a Mali-T830MP2. It features 16/32 GB of internal memory with 3 GB of RAM and an expandability option of 256 GB.

The Tests

For the first test, the video source opened a series of apps to see what smartphone can start apps first. Here is the list of apps been that's been tested:

The first app was the Path app. For this test, the Samsung Galaxy J7 Prime was the first to start the app.

The second app was Instagram. For this test, the Samsung Galaxy J7 Prime again was the first to start.

The third app is Facebook. For this test, both smartphones scored the same speed.

The fourth app is Pinterest. On this test, the Samsung Galaxy J7 Prime was first.

The fifth app was WPS Office. Just like the third app, both smartphones started this app at the same speed.

The sixth app is the Facebook messenger. Again, the Samsung Galaxy J7 Prime started the app first.

The seventh app is Play Store. For this test, both smartphones scored a tie.

The eighth app is Wechat. For this test, the Samsung Galaxy J7 Prime was the first to start the app.

The ninth app is Twitter. As for this test, the Samsung Galaxy J7 Prime again was the first to start.

The tenth app is Vine. Again, the Samsung Galaxy J7 Prime came first to start the app.

The eleventh app is a gaming app called Samurai 2. Both smartphones opened the apps, but the Samsung Galaxy J7 Prime was the first to start the game.

The twelfth and final app is another game app called Subway Surf. Just like the previous game app, the same results came out.

Multi-tasking

For this part, the video source tried to check if the apps opened earlier was still running in the background. As for the results, the Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 had all of its apps running in the background. But for the Samsung Galaxy J7 Prime, it needed to load its opened app, except for one app, the Play Store.

AnTuTu Benchmark Score

The Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 scored 77,688. On the other hand, the Samsung Galaxy J7 Prime scored 43,243.

Geekbench Score

For the Xiaomi Redmi Note 4, its single-core score was 1,527 and its multi-core score was 2039. The Samsung Galaxy J7 Prime scored 672 on the single-core score and 2728 for the multi-core score.

The Verdict

Based on the information above, in opening apps for the first time, the Samsung Galaxy J7 Prime performs better, but when it comes to multi-tasking, the Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 performs better. For this article, I will with the Xiaomi Redmi Note 4, because with every day normal use, people normal open multiple tasks and that is where the Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 shines.
