Insider Says That Horizon Zero Dawn Will Go Gold

A lot of hype is building up around Guerrilla Games' Horizon Zero Dawn. The game looks absolutely stunning, but players are trying to be careful as not to get their hopes too high up since games have a tendency to disappoint - just like what happened with No Man's Sky. Good news is, an insider at Sony says the higher-ups are very happy with HZD, and the game could be set to go gold.

The comment comes from Sony insider Shinobi who posted in NeoGAF, "Mock reviews have been very good. Internally I'm told the game is regarded as the best thing coming out of anything first party by senior PS leadership. They're extremely high on it. I expect the game do well critically and commercially." That's certainly good news for players who are looking forward to Horizon Zero Dawn.

Gaming Bolt has also pointed out that Shinobi predicts that the game will have gone gold by the end of next week. The statement could also mean that the game is completely finished, and fans don't have to look at any delays coming to Horizon Zero Dawn.

As of now, Horizon Zero Dawn has the benefit of having no bad news attached to it ever since its announcement. With various games like The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild and Kingdom Hearts 3 getting rumored for delays, HZD has been doing nothing but smooth sailing. News has even come out that the game will not have any microtransactions at all, so players also have that to look forward to.

Guerrilla Games is probably best known for its work on the Killzone franchise, but Horizon Zero Dawn looks to be on different animal. Its Decima game engine has been getting some sparkling reviews from developers, and Hideo Kojima is even borrowing the same engine for his upcoming game, Death Stranding.

Horizon Zero Dawn is a PS4 exclusive. It is set for a release this coming Feb. 28.
