Mega Man Getting Another TV Series?

90s kids may remember the old "Mega Man" series that ran from 1994-1996, but it looks like Mega Man is gearing up for a new generation of viewers. News has it that a series centered on the Blue Bomber is in the works, and it's set to come out later this year.

The news comes from Perfectly-Nintendo, and they say that the new "Mega Man" series will be debuting on Disney XD in North America. The story of the game, however, seems to take place in its own timeline and will focus on a character different from Mega Man (Rockman in Japan) and Mega Man X. The main protagonist of the show is named Aki Light and he has the ability to transform into Mega Man's armor. Other characters will also appear like Mega Man's robot dog Rush, as well as a new character called Mega Mini.

Clips from the series was posted up by Rockman Corner, but it has since been removed. Luckily enough, some of the footage was snagged by ShadowRockZX on Youtube, and it can be watched in an analysis video here. The video also points out that the show is being worked on by Man of Action, the same people behind "Ben 10." That series also focused on a young boy who could transform into different aliens - much like Aki Light and his ability to transform into Mega Man.

Though the show was said to come out on Disney XD, Game Rant reports that those plans have not been finalized and the "Mega Man" is yet to be confirmed for Disney. The production company, Dentsu Entertainment, also says that the footage that was leaked was not final and was said to be an internal animation test. That being said, people should expect a different look from Mega Man when the show finally debuts.

Though it has been a while since Capcom released a Mega Man game, the character looks to be making a comeback, with Mega Man appearing as a playable character in the upcoming Marvel vs. Capcom Infinite. Let's hope that a new generation of fans is ready to embrace Capcom's favorite robot.
