Nvidia welcomes the year with a new driver for its GeForce line of Windows PC Graphics Processing Units (GPU). Fans of the gaming powerhouse will need to get their hands on this.
The new Nvidia GeForce Graphics Drivers update will be providing enhanced game support, fixes for various features and functionality, and improvements regarding general stability.
Users can get the update to the latest Nvidia drivers when they go and check out the Nvidia GeForce Experience utility. Users also have the option to go to the Nvidia driver support page and have it detect the GPU.
"Game Ready drivers provide the best possible gaming experience for all major new releases, including Virtual Reality games," says Nvidia. "Prior to a new title launching, our driver team is working up until the last minute to ensure every performance tweak and bug fix is included for the best gameplay on day one."
An optimal gaming experience is promised for games like Resident Evil 7: Biohazard, early access of Conan Exiles, and the For Honor closed beta. The new features also include an added support for the GeForce GTX 1050 notebook and the GeForce GTX 1050 Ti notebook. DirectX 11 profile has also been added to Deus Ex: Breach Standalone, Diablo III, Dreadnought (2016), Shooter Game (HDR), and Sniper Elite 4. SLI-Single Profile has been added to LEGO: Minifigures Online and Space Hulk: Deathwing.
The WHQL 378.49 might have fixed a handful of things but there are some open issues and enhancement requests. A system specific issue found on Windows 10 and Windows 7 for Street Fighter V is a pause and play performance drop whenever played in 4K resolution and SLI enabled. Users of Windows 8.1 or 8 may notice that the Nvidia Control Panel video color settings will not have an effect on YouTube flash video playback in Internet Explorer 10.
