Pokemon Bank Update Brings Up A Familiar Glitch

The Pokemon Bank update in the Sun and Moon game has brought up a familiar glitch. It's amazing that Nintendo has not yet patched up the glitch that has been present in older games.

The MissingNo Glitch

The MissingNo. glitch was first reported on Game Boy version of Pokemon Red and Blue. It's not exactly a Pokemon but it possesses most of the characteristics like fighting battles and getting stored. The glitch causes the Yellow version to freeze while the Red and Blue features some graphical errors.

The long-standing error has been carried over the VC re-release versions of the previous 3DS Pokemon games. Sun and Moon players who transferred their old collections to the current game were confronted again by the same error. The glitch though has some interesting effects on the Sun and Moon.

Evidence Of Glitch Presented

Players on various social networks are talking about the error's effect on their Pokemon collection. One Sun and Moon user posted on Twitter a screenshot of the error. He said that if players transport the MissingNo. in storage, names of the Pokemon shifts to the one beside them. Another player recorded the Pokemon Bank glitch and shared it online via YouTube. Meanwhile, MissingNo. itself is not transferable to Sun and Moon according to a number of players who tried. For example, there are two Pokemon Haunter and Mewto stored side by side. After the transfer, Mewto will be renamed to MissingNo.

Error Seemed Permanent

The new Pokemon names seemed permanently stuck. Players have yet to found a way to undo this. Nintendo also has yet to implement a solution for this.
