Microsoft's Surface Pro line has arguably been one of the most successful product lines in the market. The 4th generation is still being positively reviewed despite more than a year in the market. Which is why the anticipation and the expectations for the Surface Pro 5 are high.
But as Microsoft has not confirmed the existence and release of the Surface Pro 5, rumors are surrounding the device. Included in the speculations is a brighter and more vibrant display. As Express UK reports, the upcoming unit will arrive with an improved and more compact design, which will make it more easy to carry around.
More specifically, the Surface Pro 5 is rumored to have 4K Ultra HD resolution, which will provide more detail. This upgrade will be evident for individuals that spend time watching and playing on the hybrid device. In terms of size, it is expected to be packaged with a 12.3-inch screen. However, the aluminum body will be lightweight.
The Surface Pro 5 is likely to be powered by the latest Intel Kaby Lake processor. The same is supposed to improve both the power and battery efficiency of the device, the latter of which is an important factor in the redesign. Many have complained about the battery life of the Surface Pro 4, so this is a welcome upgrade.
Moreover, the Surface Pen - a staple in the product line - will be upgraded as well. It is estimated to have a magnetic base that will connect it to the Surface Pro 5 itself. But what is more important, however, is that the Surface Pen will be charged at this time, thereby eliminating the need to replace the batteries that are currently used by the accessory.
As mentioned, the Redmond-based company has yet to confirm details of the Surface Pro 5, specs and release date included. But as iDigitalTimes notes, the recent price drop of the Surface Pro 4 could be an indication that the next unit will be released soon. As such, it is expected to arrive in the next few months.
