Tesla CEO Elon Musk is known to be a man of action but when he said that he will start digging a tunnel in LA, his remarks were not taken seriously. Hence, a lot of people were surprised when he tweeted about the exciting progress about his tunnel. In the said tweet, he even added his plans to start digging in "a month or so."
Elon Musk's LA Tunnel Update
Given the details that Musk revealed in one tweet, there were a lot of netizens who were curious if he is serious about his plans on making a tunnel. The Tesla CEO replied to one of those tweets indicating that he was not joking, he even answered one query that asked for details about the location of his tunnel. Based on his reply, the tunnel is going to start across his SpaceX desk then to Crenshaw and the 105 Freeway which, he noted, is five minutes from the LAX.
While this may seem to be interesting news, there were also some who expressed concerns over his plans to build a subway in Southern California as the area is prone to earthquakes. Musk seems to have done his homework as he was quick to explain that earthquakes mostly affect the surface similar to the effect of waves on water. Hence, it's possible to build a subway in Los Angeles.
LA Subway
Musk first thought about a tunnel in LA while he was stuck in traffic. Since he could not find an alternative route, he began toying with the idea of building a tunnel. Known for his penchant for using his money to create new technology, it would not be surprising to see Tesla's founder pushing through with this project.
While some would wonder if the business tycoon still needs to apply for licenses and permits to push through with his project, there are some who believe that he can call in some favors to start digging right aware. Based on some reports, Musk and Pres. Donald Trump have a good relationship and this could help him build his subway faster. For now, it remains to be seen if Elon Musk was truly serious when he announced the progress of his LA tunnel.
