Recently, Nokia started rolling out the 1308 firmware update in the U.S. and some European countries. The AT&T Nokia Lumia 920 also received the firmware update but it caused connectivity issues for those who installed the firmware, forcing the company to halt the release of the update.
Now Nokia is releasing the 1314 firmware update to bring enhancements and fix problems caused by the previous update.
The latest software release for Nokia Lumia 920 is SW 1232.5962.1314.0001, which improves automatic display brightness adjustment on the handset, fixes the intermittent screen blanking during a call and brings improvements for connectivity issues in certain network conditions. The 1314 software release also brings performance and stability improvements to the Lumia 920.
The 1308 software update was supposed to bring a storage fix option, the ability to change the color intensity of the display, performance and stability improvements, especially to the 8.7-megapixel camera which touts Carl Zeiss optics. Nokia pushed out this firmware update after receiving feedback from field testing. However, the software release to AT&T Lumia 920 was stopped after various customers complained of connectivity issues after installing the update.
"My L920 has been having a difficult time connecting to AT&T since the firmware update. It was going in and out, it shows the bars but I am unable to send or receive texts or anything else without being on WiFi. Anyone else had this happen to them?" complained one user on Reddit.
The availability of the 1314 update may depend on your network service provider. To check for updates on your phone go to Settings > Phone update.
If you have installed the 1308 firmware update previously are you facing any issues and have you received the latest 1314 firmware update?
