LG Optimus F7 Rumored Release On Sprint, Boost Mobile

The LG Optimus F7 is rumored to launch on Boost Mobile, Sprint's pre-paid wireless carrier. This would be Boost Mobile's third 4G LTE capable device, the LG Optimus F7 is a mid-range dual-core smartphone. It joins the HTC One SV and the Boost Force, which are also both 4G LTE capable.

Not all areas have Sprint LTE service just yet. Sprint is busy replacing its Network Vision towers in various cities nationwide and is working to turn on LTE for anxious customers as soon as possible. The addition of the LG Optimus F7 with LTE capability may indicate that Sprint has made progress in preparing its LTE network.

A recently leaked promotional photo on 9to5google.com shows the LG Optimus F7 with Sprint brand apps including Sprint Zone and Sprint ID. Over the past few years, Sprint has shifted some of its mid and high end devices over to Boost, such as the HTC Evo Design 4G and the Samsung Galaxy S2 4G. This could become more of a trend for Sprint as many customers navigate over to pre-paid wireless.

The LG Optimus F7 was first announced and unveiled at the Mobile World Conference (MWC) in February. It runs on a 1.5 GHz dual-core processor and has 2GB RAM. It sports a 4.7-inch True HD IPS LCD display with a resolution of 720 x 1280 pixels. The rear facing camera is 8MP and the device will run Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean right out of the box.

Should the rumors about Boost Mobile getting the LG Optimus F7 turn out to be legit, it should be reasonably priced. The most expensive smartphone on the Boost Mobile network is currently the Samsung Galaxy S2 4G at $330.
