Rumors about Mewthree have recently begun to resurface, fueled in large part by a leaked Pokemon story from the upcoming issue of the Japanese periodical CoroCoro. The Pokemon story regarding Mewthree pertained to Godspeed/Extremespeed Genesect and the Reawakening of Mewtwo, the new Pokemon movie that will hit theaters in Japan on July 13.
While it seemed as though Mewthree might finally be a reality after it was widely reported that a new Pokemon would definitely be featured in the new theatrical release, it's beginning to look more probable that the new Pokemon story revolves around an alternate form of Mewtwo, rather than Mewthree.
Marriland has been tracking the Mewthree rumors for awhile now, and though the site held out hope longer than most, it finally conceded in an update this week that we're probably only in store for a new form of Mewtwo:
"It turns out there was another page I had not yet seen posted at the time of writing this post early in the morning. An additional page does indeed imply that the new form is an 'awakened' Mewtwo. It's more of an implication than a strong confirmation, and I would say it is still possible it is a new Pokémon, but it's looking more and more likely that it is just a new form for Mewtwo," the site wrote.
Just because there's no official Mewthree, however, doesn't mean you can't play a hacked version of Pokemon that not only includes Mewthree, but also allows you to evolve him into Mewthree X, another famous fake Pokemon.
Probably the most popular Pokemon hack game is Pokemon ChaosBlack — a modification of Pokemon FireRed — which is available on Game Boy Advance. In addition to Mewthree, Pokemon ChaosBlack features a number of other fake Pokemon and is laced with profanity.
