The design of Sony Xperia XA 2017 has just been leaked in an online video. This comes as a surprise for some tech enthusiasts as the leak comes ahead of Mobile World Congress 2017, where Sony is expected to showcase its new products.
The YouTube video posted last Friday by video blogger Tech Lover HD is just 2 minutes long. It showcases the handler tinkering with what seems to be a fully functional prototype of a Sony handset labeled as G3121.
The clip allegedly features Sony smartphone number G3121 and is claimed to be the successor of Xperia XA. Photos and rumors of the new XA that have surfaced reveal a USB Type-C port at the bottom of the handset. The design of the Sony model G3121 bears a strong resemblance of the XA. The Xperia XA from the leaked video shows a front facing camera which can also be seen in the current XA and Sony handsets.
In terms of design, the leaked phone seems like it will not exit from having bezels as it is equipped with large top and bottom bezels. The title of the video also says the upcoming Sony Xperia XA 2017 has a 23 megapixel back camera. If this is true, this is a huge leap from the 13 megapixel back camera from original Sony Xperia XA. The back of the smartphone looks like it is sporting a matte color, the same with its side.
The G3121 model featured in the video seems like it is powered by Android 7.0 Nougat. It also looks like January 5, 2017, security patch has been installed. This could mean that the prototype is still new or is a much earlier version that is running updated software. The original Xperia XA was launched with the Android OS v6.0.1 Marshmallow.
