Battle Of 2017 BlackBerry Phones: US' BB Mercury vs Asia's BBC100-1

BlackBerry is back on the smartphone game this 2017 and according to reports, there will be two phones coming from the company this year. Apparently, the BlackBerry Mercury is confirmed and it is coming in at the MWC 2017. Apart from that, there is also another BB phone rumored for released but this phone is still referred to by its BBC100-1 code.

BlackBerry 2017 Phones Rumored Specs

The BlackBerry Mercury has been shown off at the CES 2017. However, it was only a soft launch and the company behind it did not go into details about the device's specs and features. These matters might be saved for the MWC event. As for the BBC100-1, rumor has it that this phone will be a midrange phone with modest specs.

Rumor has it that the BBC100-1 will come with a 1.4 GHZ Snapdragon 425 processor and 4 GB RAM. It is also expected to come with 32 GB storage and a 3000 mAh battery. Physically, a 5.5-inch 720p display is also expected alongside a dual-SIM support. For the camera, this BlackBerry Phone could have a 13 MP/8 MP camera combo.

The BlackBerry Mercury, on the other hand, is said to come with a Snapdragon 635 processor, 3 GB RAM and 3400 mAh battery, as per Trusted Reviews. The back camera could come with 18 megapixels and the front camera could boast of 8 MPs. The BlackBerry Mercury's screen could just be 4.5 inches in size but the phone will boast of BB's iconic QWERTY keyboard.

BlackBerry 2017 Phones Availability Details

The BlackBerry Mercury is expected to launch on February 25 at the MWC 2017 event, as per IB Times. This has been officially announced by BlackBerry. The BBC100-1 phone, on the other hand, is still at its very early stages. There hasn't even been a solid name for it. Nevertheless, rumor has it that this phone will be targeted towards developing markets such as the Philippines, India, and Indonesia. The BlackBerry Mercury, on the other hand, is more flagship in nature and is supposedly targeted towards bigger smartphone markets.
