The 2018 McLaren 720S is one of the Super Series models that will debut at the 2017 Geneva Motor show in March. McLaren is a British automaker known from its luxurious supercars with excellent designs and sophisticated interiors and exteriors.
The first leaked image was posted on Instagram and later on circulated online. The image showed the McLaren 720S during an event. The Super Series model has similar styling features of the 650S.
The McLaren 720S is powered by a twin-turbo 3.8-litre V8. It is boosted with couple of radiators producing up to 720 horsepower or roughly 535 kW. Internally codenamed "P14," it is the second-generation model. The supercar claims to have an aerodynamic twice as the outgoing 650S, which the model can pitch forward that will serve as an air brake.
The supercar 720S all-new body structure is called Monocage II. It weighs up to 1,283 kilograms or 18 kg lighter than the 650S. It also offers a lower center of gravity and better outward visibility. The supercar promises an easier ingress and egress than the 650S, as noted on the Auto Blog.
It depicted the lack of air intakes to feed cool fresh oxygen to the mid-mounted engine, which features air intakes behind the doors. The new McLaren 720S will have one of the most excellent aeronautic program and a special track mode that will distinguish the model from other cars in the market.
According to Car Scoops, the supercar will actually go faster compared to the P1 around the track. It has the latest iteration of the carbon monocoque. The output is a high-quality speed of 8.4 second 0-200km/h sprint, so the new 720S with 535kW and improved aerodynamics could be looking at 0-200km/h sprints of around eight seconds flat.
In addition, McLaren is proposing a lower level Sports Series and has been aiming a limited-edition supercar in 2019. The McLaren's first volume model line will help the company to transform from a boutique manufacturer to a true Lamborghini and Ferrari close rival.
