Digimon World: Next Order has a true fascinating evolution system especially since it requires a great amount of the players' patience and time. On the contrary, the Digimon Story: Cyber Sleuth has a simpler evolution, similar to the Next Order which maintained its original concept thus making players work for it. This is surely not a negative thing at all as it seems to make the evolution similar to an investment. However, fans might be frustrated if they are used to playing Pokemon games.
According to The BitBag, the Next Order's evolution system will certainly feel familiar for those players who were able to play the original Digimon World. Players should not just be expecting to battle and just simply gain EXP, although this still serves an important role. Fortunately, one dedicated fan from Game Faqs made a list of helpful tips which includes a complete walkthrough.
The players would have to train and take care of their partners after carefully choosing two of them within the Digimon World: Next Order. There are four types of evolution within the game and each of these have already increased the overall stats of Digimon.
The first type is Good Evolution. This is a basic evolution that increase stats. The second type is the Fresh Evolution, an evolution that increases stats for new Digimon. The third type is Evolution Veteran, an evolution that increases stats of a Digimon that was acquired previously. The fourth type is the Great Evolution, which provides the biggest stat increase after an evolution.
The Vita version of the game seems to require a slightly different stat requirements for evolution as noticed by Reddit fans. More information from the evolution tree could be generated by players through praising or scolding a Digimon. Similar to Cyber Sleuth, players can manipulate what their Digimon will turn into.
