Players should make the most out of the Grade system in Tales of Berseria before attempting to start a new game in order to bring over and include some new features in their next playthrough. Meanwhile, discover how to unlock and perform each characters' mystic artes.
Farming for Grade in Tales of Berseria
The Grade Shop has always been a staple feature in the Tales series as it is mainly used to transfer over features from the previous playthrough. In addition to this, players can also buy different buffs and boons which can help mix up the second run of their game. For the latest installment of the game, players will be rewarded with this specific in-game currency depending on their performance in battle.
RPG Site reports that the easiest way to earn Grade is to fight enemies in the overworld. Players can even opt to continue farming for the currency even after they finish the game by loading their last save file. Alternatively, fans can earn more Grade via difficult battles but the total currency still depends on their combat performance.
Gamers should target the Code Red Daemons found in the Code Red Hunts as they can offer a hefty grade bonus. On the other hand, the Marathoner's Ventite which can be found in Palamides Temple will also reward players with plenty of currency. If players can manage to chain these battles together, the Grade will continue to stack resulting in a large bonus. It is worth noting that players will need to have at least 13,000 Grade in order to unlock everything from the store.
How to Unlock and Use the Various Mystic Artes
That aside, the cast has a total of three Mystic Artes which are basically ultra-powered moves to wipe out enemies, as per another RPG Site report. Everyone's first mystic arte will unlock via story progression while the cast will unlock the second skill upon reaching level 35.
To unlock the final mystic arte, players will have to grab different-colored orbs in the final dungeon and bring them over to their corresponding portal. Once delivered, players will have to fight an optional boss battle before finally earning the skill. Each character will have a specific color: Red for Laphicet, Yellow for Eizen, Blue for Eleanor, Green for Rokurou, White for Magilou and Violet for Velvet. Meanwhile, fans will have to defeat bosses on floors 2, 4 and 6 of the bonus dungeon to unlock the Dual Mystic Artes.
To activate the first and second mystic artes, the player must have at least 3BG and 4BG respectively before holding L2 and attacking an enemy. The third skill requires more effort as a character must have 5BG and the character needs to do Soul Break Arte beforehand. Finally, for Dual Mystic Artes, both characters must have at least 5BG with one being in the active party while the other is in the reserve. Fans can play Tales of Berseria on the PC, PS3, and PS4.
