Samsung is rumored to completely redesign the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 and wrap it in an aluminum enclosure instead of plastic, due in part to the HTC One's aluminum unibody enclosure. Sources have said it will be the first Samsung smartphone to ditch the cheap plastic the company has been using for years. New images have been posted that show a redesigned Samsung phablet that could possibly be the upcoming Galaxy Note 3.
Evleaks posted the images to Twitter and the design is a complete departure from the current Galaxy Note phablet line. The smartphone has Samsung's signature home button and the bottom right of the device appears to have a cutout where the S Pen normally resides. Gone are the rounded corners of past Samsung smartphones; the new device takes on a more rectangular look and resembles BlackBerry's Z10 smartphone.
According to SamMobile, a tipster has told the site that the Galaxy Note 3 will ship with a 5.99-inch screen and be about the size of the just- announced Samsung Galaxy Mega 5.8 and have a more narrow design to make the smartphone more comfortable to hold.
As with all leaked images of unannounced devices, it's best to take this rumor with a grain of salt. Evleaks has a great track record for leaking upcoming devices, but we just can't be sure that this is the Galaxy Note 3. The choice of black or white models and what looks like an S Pen inserted looks pretty convincing. Samsung is expected to announce the Galaxy Note 3 at IFA in September.
