Samsung recently rolled-out the Android Nougat update for its current flagship, the Galaxy S7. Many obvious or subtle changes can be observed, although this post picks the best features that come with the new OS version.
Refreshed UI
On the update, the first thing you will notice is that everything is refreshed. The icons on the screen now have rounded edges and also offer the user an option to choose whether to have boarders on the icons or not.
The second thing that you will notice is that the new UI will allow its user the option to pick whether to have a less number of apps present on the screen or not. This is a cool feature, especially when you have so many apps in your screen and if you're like me, it takes me a minute or two to find the app I'm looking for.
The third thing is that there is a new search bar for apps. And lastly, the way you receive calls and dial numbers have also been changed. Personally, I think it looks more appealing.
New Notifications
On the notification shade, you won't find the familiar blue-green toggles anymore, as they are now painted in white. Also, it now has multiple pages, which users can swipe through and there is an added option to customize its grid size. But moreover, the layout of the settings itself has been changed and also features suggestions.
New Display
On the update, users can control the screen resolution of the phone. With one tap, users can either choose full HD which is the default screen resolution of the phone, HD if they want to conserve more battery life, or 2k resolution if more pixels are needed.
The new update also has a blue-light feature, which can help users read at night a bit more pleasurable and also sleep better. It even has a number of new "Always-on" display layouts to choose from, including one that you can customize by adding a picture of yours as its wallpaper.
Smarter Manager
First thing about the Smart Manager, it has been revamped and is now found at the setting menu. This feature helps the user tweak the battery performance, storage, RAM and security of the phone. And if you're feeling a little bit lazy about that, you can quickly fix all of them with one tap also.
Better Battery
On the update, the battery manager has three modes to choose. The three modes are: Medium Power Saving mode, Maximum Power Saving mode and the Ultra Power Saving mode.
For the Medium and Maximum Power Saving mode, user cans adjust the screen brightness, the screen resolution, the CPU speed and many more. As for the Ultra Power Saving mode, this feature will take out the color of the screen, which ultimately makes its battery life last really long.
Unleashing The Beast
Performance Mode now gives you four options. These are Normal mode, Game mode, Entertainment mode and High Performance mode.
For the Normal mode, its performance will be in default where everything is well-balanced. Game Mode is optimized for games. The Entertainment Mode is for multi-media enthusiasts and lastly, the High Performance mode that is recommended for power users.
