Sony's Xperia SP was launched earlier in April in India and now the smartphone has hit the shelves, touting an Rs. 25,490 price tag.
The Xperia SP is available for order from several online retailers like Infibeam, Snapdeal and Flipkart. When announced in March, the Xperia SP was expected to sell for Rs 27,490; however, the current deals are nearly Rs.000 cheaper.
"Sony launched the Xperia SP in India last week at an MRP of Rs. 27490. The phone is now on sale from online retailer Infibeam," reports FoneArena.
The Xperia SP sports a 4.6-inch HD Reality display with Mobile BRAVIA Engine 2. The handset has a resolution of 1280 x 720 with a pixel density of 319 ppi. A dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 MSM8960Pro processor, which is clocked at 1.7 GHz powers the Xperia SP.
The 9.8mm thick device weighs 155gm and touts an 8-megapixel primary camera with LED Flash, Exmor RS Sensor for HD images and can record 1080p videos. The Xperia SP also has a VGA front-facing snapper.
The smartphone comes pre-loaded with Android 4.1 Jelly Bean and has 1GB of RAM, 8GB of on-board storage (with the option to expand to an additional 32GB via a microSD card).The 4G LTE and NFC-enabled Xperia SP also houses a powerful 2370 mAh battery.
The Xperia SP comes with a free premium case that is worth Rs 1,990 and is available in black and white. While the red variant of the phone is notably missing in the region, the handset comes pre-loaded with the Sony Music streaming app which will offer six months of unlimited music streaming.
Those interested can pick up the Xperia SP from Infibeam for Rs. 25,490. Alternately, Flipkart also has the smartphone up for pre-order at a slightly higher Rs 25,990. However, the e-retailer offers a free Sandisk 16GB memory card. Snapdeal is also retailing the smartphone for Rs 25,990.
