Samsung is apparently gearing up to release the smaller sibling of the Galaxy S4, the Galaxy S4 Mini , very soon. Now the smartphone has popped up on Samsung's UAPROF website, fueling speculations that the alleged April end/May debut is on the cards.
Recently, Samsung's SVP Lee Keon Hyok disclosed that "the Galaxy S 4 doesn't come out until late April. It's fast, has a big, bright screen, and will probably be another huge hit for Samsung, as will the S4 mini that will go on sale soon after."
The smartphone making an appearance on user agent's profile or UAPROF seems to confirm the rumors and the nearing launch date. This, however, is not the first time that the Galaxy S4 Mini has surfaced online.
Rumors suggest that Samsung will release two variants of the Galaxy S4 Mini - a single SIM and a dual-SIM one which are codenamed GT-I9190 and GT-I9192, respectively. It is also speculated that the Galaxy S4 Mini will come in a LTE version, GT-I9195.
The Galaxy S4 mini, per rumors, will sport a 4.3-inch qHD screen with 960 x 540 pixels resolution (256 ppi). The smartphone will tout 8/16/32GB on-board memory options and feature an 8-megapixel primary camera. The device will also packs in a 2-megapixel secondary snapper, Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean with Samsung's Touch Wiz Nature UX user interface and a removable battery.
With Samsung supposedly on course to release the Galaxy S4 Mini, the Korean company's fans will have two new smartphones (the Galaxy S4 is releasing April end, remember) to choose from.
