Final Fantasy XV: February and March Updates
Nova Crystallis reveals the contents and release date of the upcoming updates for Final Fantasy XV via Twitter as shown down below. The translated version of the tweet was elaborated on this thread from the Final Fantasy 15 subreddit. Here are the highlights of the upcoming updates:
February 21 Update - PS4 Pro Full HD 60fps, Maximum level increased from 99 to 120, Photo Album increased from 150 to 200 photos, FFXV music tracks added to music player, New Feature: Adds Music Player while riding chocobo, Booster Pack DLC, Magitek Suits and Season Pass Holder Bonus: New Sword and Rod (unspecified).
March 28 Update - Episode Gladiolus, Various fixes for Chapter 13 and End Game Boost (unspecified). Lastly, a survey will also be conducted in the future (unspecified).
If the leak turns out to be true then fans can now experience running Final Fantasy XV in full high quality starting February 21st. Moreover, the Booster Pack DLC will also be released at the same time which is likely similar to the Holiday pack: comes with both free and paid DLCs. For Season Pass holders, they will receive additional bonus including a brand new sword and rod.
After the February update, fans will have to wait another month for the Episode Gladiolus (for those that bought it) which is one of the most anticipated DLCs in the game; alongside episode Prompto which is rumored to be slated on June. With regards to the End Game Boost, it's still unclear whether it'll be similar to the Holiday Pack DLC or an entirely new content. This also holds true for the upcoming survey which has yet to be defined.
Aside from the February and March updates, the recent Active Time Report which was broadcasted from Tokyo shows game director Hajime Tabata teasing the early development of an off-road Regalia. The video which can be seen down below, shows one of the upcoming features in the game.
According to the Tabata, the main intention for this feature is to enable players to freely explore and drive around the world without having to stick to the roads. It's still on its alpha development and in fact, you can see that the Regalia was apparently stuck on a rock due to a collision bug.
The game director also announced that the Final Fantasy XV platinum will be discontinued on March 31st. This means that players will no longer be able to download the little Noctis side-story on both PlayStation Network and Xbox Store after the given date. Check back for more Final Fantasy XV news!
