There were so many hype and fanfare given to Final Fantasy VII Remake that you wouldn't think it's not coming out very soon. For instance, the game developer has rolled out a cute art piece for the upcoming video game apparently designed to arouse the curiosity of the fans. It is assumed that the game will be composed of multi parts and won't be episodic. What we know so far is that the game will be distributed like Final Fantasy XV.
Kitase's Recent Interview Revealed Some Details
A recent interview with the Weekly Famitsu of Yoshinori Kitase, the producer of Final Fantasy VII Remake revealed some of the details of the game's development progress and other related matters. He clearly stated in that interview that the point of reference of the upcoming remake is Final Fantasy XV.
It therefore appears that as soon as the game is prepared, we will then see the game developer releasing some live streams of the game, again, to attract the attention of the fans, among other things. But since we know that this title will be a multi-part series, we should not expect to see DLCs and other extras similar to Final Fantasy XV.
Kitase Also Gave An Update On The Progress Of Final Fantasy VII Remake
When asked about the development progress of Final Fantasy VII Remake, Kitase said that they are still brushing up the scenes that they showed the fans on the trailer. He added that the quality level that they are aiming for is being realized. However, he admitted that they still have a lot of work to do.
The interviewer also asked the director if they will maintain the quality of the first video game even if it ends up as a series and as the game development takes time. Kitase answered that in the production of the episodes, it is his responsibility to determine the game's quality level and maintain it to the very end. He added that it will only be natural for the quality to match.
The Remake Will Have No Spinoffs Or DLCs
Although Final Fantasy VII Remake will be different, Kitase said he wants it to be unique. That would mean it won't have spinoff DLCs just like the forthcoming episodes of Final Fantasy XV featuring Gladiolus and Prompto. Therefore, fans who want the inclusion of Advent Children and Crisis Core to the upcoming remake may be disappointed because that is not included in the plans of the director.
But with the designers of Dissidia and Kingdom Hearts working on the project, we may see a drastic change in the combat styles of Final Fantasy VII Remake. We can also expect new costumes for the characters. Let us just hope that this upcoming game will turn out to be what the game developers have been hyping about.
When asked how he will fill the gap between episodes, Kitase explained that Final Fantasy VII Remake is spread out like a compilation. He added that they don't have a definite plan, but since game development takes a long time, they are thinking of ways by which the interest of the fans will be sustained.
