We just saw cases for the iPad 5 leak and we know it's going to be thinner and smaller than the current fourth-generation iPad. What we haven't seen up until this point is an image of the long-rumored low-cost iPhone. What appears to be the budget iPhone now has leaked online and it lines up with previously reported information.
iLounge reported details about Apple's low-cost iPhone back in January and the image shown lines up with what was reported. iLounge described the low-cost iPhone as, "It will have a 4" screen, like the iPhone 5, a bottom like the latest iPod touch, and a shape that's most similar to the iPod classic."
The leaked image shows a plastic polycarbonate white case with a form factor very reminiscent of the iPod classic design and also has the rounded curves of the current iPod touch. The case has cutouts for volume knobs and a lock switch. The image also appears to show a microphone between the camera and the flash, just like the iPhone 5. The source claims that the plastic shell measures 0.4-0.6mm thick, but that the actual iPhone might be around 9mm thick (with display). The case is 120mm in height and 62-65mm in width. These dimensions would make it taller and wider than the iPhone 4/4S. It also is being reported that the low-cost iPhone will sport an A5 processor, 3.5-inch Retina display and a 5-megapixel camera.
It's always important to remember whenever we see leaked images, especially leaked images with an Apple logo, to take it as a rumor. If the image is legit, get ready to see millions of them, as analysts are projecting Apple will sell 75 million low-cost iPhones next year.
