According to report, the "Four Wheeler Pickup Truck of the Year" is an annual invitational event participated by several pickup trucks in the segment. The competition consists of the competing trucks being subjected to different kinds of tests that ultimately measure their capabilities. Among those that competed in the abovementioned competition are the 2017 models of Toyota Tacoma TRD Pro, Ram 2500 Off Road Package, Ram Power Wagon, Nissan Titan XD PRO-4X, Nissan Titan Pro-4X, Ford F-150 Raptor and Ford F250 Super Duty FX4.

Apparently, this is not the first time that the 2017 Ford F-150 received the "Four Wheeler Pickup Truck of the Year" award. It was reported that the Ford F-150 Raptor was also able to get this prestigious award in 2011. The 2017 Ford F-150 Raptor was able to earn its second award thanks to its combined capabilities in both on-road and off-road. "The truck is equivalent of an amusement park thrill ride. With horsepower and torque numbers far exceeding the previous generation Raptor, the engine is a willing participant in the Raptor experience.
