NBA Trade: Magic Desperate To Make Swap; Frank Vogel Eyes On Serge Ibaka Trade?

There is still a long way before the playoffs begin, and for a slumping team like the Orlando Magic, a huge trade deal might be their saving glory. Serge Ibaka has been a constant name appearing on Magic's supposed trading list. Latest rumors have it that the Magic is looking for a big trade at a bargain price with Ibaka as their bait.

The Orlando Magic are reportedly desperate of a trade. Reports say that sports researchers asking around found out that the Eastern team is in dire desire to reconstruct its lineup to at least give them a chance to win every remaining game to the playoffs. The Magic then ought to use its power forward even before his time with the team is up to attract deals as Ibaka's records show that he is putting solid numbers for the team. Despite it, though, rumors say that the Magic have not seen much benefit in their move to sign Ibaka.

Ibaka is currently making an average of 15 points per game, but he is still one of the best rim protectors at 1.6 percent of the team's blocks coming from him. With this talent, enthusiasts probably believe that Ibaka can be more efficient with a better playoff contender like the Wizards or the Raptors. With the 27-year-old player being an unrestricted free agent, reports say that Ibaka penning a contract with a new team can possibly be seen on Feb. 23.

As for the Magic, it is not yet clear whom they are targeting to acquire as Rob Hennigan has always kept a tight ship about his team's transactions. Very few leaks though from the Magic officials claim that they are in active search for a deal. With the 19-32 record of the team, head coach Frank Vogel also previously admitted that he is to tweak his team's lineup.

Rumors then have it that the Magic will try to acquire younger players in exchange since they are reportedly sure that Ibaka will make a move in July. The Celtics, the Rockets, and the Raptors, on the other hand, are being linked to Ibaka. Latest reports though claim that the latter is not interested in letting go of Terrence Ross in exchange of Ibaka.
