Fans of Marvel's Iron Man can soon look forward to the third sequel to hit theaters soon. Accompanying the much-awaited Iron Man 3 is a new game that publisher Gameloft will be releasing alongside the movie. And now, a new gameplay trailer has been released, giving fans a peek into the 18 armor suits.
Marvel Comics' clever marketing ploy of releasing a game for mobile devices along with the movie has helped generate additional hype in the past as well.
Per reports, Iron Man 3 for iOS and Android is set to hit the iTunes and Google Play Stores by the end of April.
Fans of the series saw the first glimpse of the game thanks to the gameplay trailer which was teased at the end of March. The new Iron Man 3 gameplay trailer gives a peek into what's in store for fans, showing off the armored hero's assortment of high-tech suits.
Iron Man 3's gameplay mechanics are pretty simple and will take the format of an endless runner (like Temple Run). However, staying true to his superhero style, Iron Man will fly throughout the game. The object of the game is to avoid obstacles and collect items along the journey, as well as defeating nemeses.
The in-game upgrades are mostly in the form or as a part of powered armor suits. The gameplay trailer teases up to 18 new ones, which are from the Iron Man comics and movies. The suits include Iron Patriot, War Machine and the classic Mark II. You can check out all 18 suits here on Gameloft's official blog.
However, some fans could be disappointed that, compared to fellow-superhero title the Batman: Dark Night Returns game version, the Iron Man 3 is pretty basic.
The Iron Man 3 game is expected to release on April 25, a week prior to the movie hitting the U.S. screens. Both the Android and iOS versions are expected to be released simultaneously. However, Android devices often get hit with unforeseen snags, so keep fingers crossed. It is not yet known if Windows will also get the game.
