Cancer Miracle: Wonder Drug Gave Terminally Ill Lung Cancer Patient An All Clear

In what is considered to be a cancer miracle, a lung cancer patient who was given only 18 months to live now has no trace of the disease after taking a wonder trial drug. He was referred to participate in the clinical trial which saved his life. He was one of the first people in the world to have access to the drug.

Bob Berry, 60, from Hazel Grove in Stockport was diagnosed with cancer three years ago after he suffered pains in his shoulder. Scans on his lungs revealed that there is a shadow, and he learned that devastating news that he had lung cancer.

The 'Miracle Drug' Cannot Be Named Yet, But It Is Combined With Immunotherapy Treatment

He was then referred to The Christie, one of the largest cancer treatment centres in Europe, to begin a gruelling course of radiotherapy and chemotherapy, but it was unsuccesful. According to Mirror Online, Bob was not responding to the drugs, and his doctors said that he had around a year-and-a-half left to live.

He was then referred to the hospital's clinical trials unit, and last year, Bob became one of the first people ever to be treated with the brand new drug, which can't yet be named. The clinical trial uses this "miracle drug" and combines it with an immunotherapy treatment. This is the first time that the drug was used for human testing, and the study is only taking place at only six centres worldwide, Manchester Evening News reported.

Bob's Recent Scans Show No Apparent Trace Of Tumor In His Body

His most recent scans reveal that he's had a complete response with no apparent trace of tumor in his body - which many claim to be a cancer miracle. Bob said that the clinical trial at The Christie has extended his life, and he is very grateful. "Anyone who is offered a clinical trial should seriously consider it," he added.

Dr Matthew Krebs, Bob's consultant at The Christie said that the patient is showing phenomenal response to the clinical trial for the "miracle drug", and they need to closely monitor hiim with regular scans to assess how durable this response will be.
