It can be recalled that Ragnar Lothbrok died in the previous episode and each main character is starting to say goodbye to the series. However, it was reiterated that the show would not be ending on its 5th season. As a matter of fact, "Vikings" creator Michael Hirst admitted that the movie would go beyond the current installment. Also, Ragnar, in history books, were killed by a snake pit. Thus, the series aligned to it as well as they show the character of Lothbrok being killed in the same incident. With this, fans are concluding that this might be the last season for the show as heroes were dying one by one. However, reports suggest that the show is still on the verge of making its Season 5 and casts are already filming in Ireland.

"Vikings" Season 5 To Focus On Next Generation Lothbroks, Show To Extend Up To Two Seasons

The upcoming season would revolve around the story of Lagertha, Rolla, and Ivar the Boneless. It was also revealed that the show would also give emphasis to the next generation of Lothbroks. This is a great indicator that Ragnar's death would be the show's death as well.

"Honestly, I think people did think when Travis died everything would change and yet on we went, the machine went on, we had so many great new actors," the show's writer stated. "I'm pretty sure we can go on for another two seasons,"
