‘Attack On Titan' Season 2 Release Date Announced; Funimation Releases New Poster

“Attack On Titan” Season finally has a premiere date and it is sooner than the fans think. Meanwhile, Funimation has just announced that it will be streaming the said up and coming animated television series. Funimation released an English version of the official poster.

Though the release date has been kept in the dark since the second season of the anime was announced, the highly anticipated “Attack on Titan” Season 2 has been slated to premiere on April 1 this year. It will air on 21 network channels in Japan, which will include Tokyo MX and MBS. Aside from that, Funimation will simultaneously broadcast the new episodes of the said anime series through streaming.

All 22 viewing platforms will air each new episode on the same day. This means fans from outside Japan, including those in the United States, will be able to stream “Attack on Titan” Season 2 at real time. The new official poster that Funimation released, which actually gave away the release date of the said anime series, featured key characters of the story.

Eren Jaeger is back as the hero of “Attack on Titan” Season 2 while his trusted friends, Mikasa Ackerman and Armin Alert back him up. Funimation has revealed that the new season will continue the story from “Attack on Titan” Season 1, with Eren having to transform into a Titan to save humanity and to wipe out every last Titan out there. The poster also highlights a new male Titan, which will be a huge plot twist in the story if some fans have not followed the manga series.

After acquiring the license, Funimation has dropped trailers for the new season since December. The official website of “Attack on Titan” also revealed that the second season will have a new opening song. Linked Horizon will return to perform the new opening theme song for “Attack on Titan” Season 2.
