Rainbow Six Siege Update: Here Are All The New Features For The Velvet Shell DLC

Ubisoft has shared a new trailer along with the overall details for the "Rainbow Six Siege" DLC Velvet Shell. Learn about the new map, characters, weapon customizations and more.

New Features for "Rainbow Six Siege" Velvet Shell DLC

To begin with, the two major features the updates brings in are the two operators and a new map called Coastline, as per GameSpot. Luckily, Coastline is free for all players and even brings in the new "Two-Layer Destruction" system which will eventually make its way to other maps. Furthermore, new characters include a Defender, Mira, who can install and build a bulletproof, one-way mirror in walls and an Attacker, Jackal, who can see enemy footprints.

That aside, Velvet Shell will also revamp the game's menus and bring in new customization items. There will be a total of four Signature weapons skins being the Chupinazo, El Dorado, Leon Furioso and Crossfader. These customizations supposedly have the colors of the "Spanish shores" and matches with the overall theme of the new map and characters are all from the said country.

On a different note, Rook will be getting a New Elite set that consists of a matching uniform and headgear, Operator title, Operator card, charm and a signature victory animation. More importantly, Ubisoft made a vital balance change towards weapon sights so that all scopes will now be identical to each other. The Velvet Shell also includes a bunch of bug changes ranging from Gameplay, Game Modes, Operators, Level Design and User Experience.

Similarly, VG247 reports Ubisoft recently released a new trailer for the massive update. The 2-minute clip showcases a bit of the map along with the two new characters and their skills. Finally, the update will arrive on all platforms come Feb. 7.

However, it is worth noting that Velvet Shell will arrive at different times depending on the platform. PS4 players will get the update around 9-9:59 AM EST while Xbox One players will get it on 10-10:59 AM EST. Finally, the "Rainbow Six Siege" update will arrive on PC around 11:11-59 AM EST.
