Apple is one of the most popular tech companies in the whole world, and being such, it is keen on producing the most high-tech and trendiest gadgets that the world can offer. While the iPhones have undeniably kept up with the masses' definition of trendy, Apple has a lot more to offer. Apart from all the portable computing devices, it looks like the company is ready to take things to a whole new level. As per recent reports, Apple may be moving towards the direction of augmented reality. To do this, the iPhone-maker may be producing the smart glasses that will make its AR/VR plans come to fruition.
Apple Working On Smart Glasses
The iGlasses, or whatever it may end up being called, is the alleged VR/AR product that Apple plans on producing. As per a Tech Radar report, AR/VR evangelist Robert Scoble has mentioned the big possibility of Apple entering the augmented reality industry. It was said that the company could work with Carl Zeiss to produce the said AR glasses. The announcement schedule for the said smart glasses was also suggested. There's a possibility for a summer 2017 announcement, alongside the iPhone's 10th anniversary, and there is also the possibility of a spring 2018 release.
Apple's Plans For Augmented Reality Products
This actually isn't the first time that Apple has been associated with augmented reality. Apple CEO Tim Cook himself have already shown interest in AR in the past, so it's pretty clear that augmented reality isn't a total blacklist from Apple's plans. As per Apple Insider, analyst Ming-Chi Kuo has also predicted that Apple would eventually offer AR solutions, although it's worth noting that Kuo also mentioned that it is still unlikely for the company to come up with a standalone system, at least for a year or two.
