Well, this might somewhat hurt if you are a die hard Counter-Strike fan. Valve announced recently that the map Dedust2 won't be used anymore for competitive plays to give way on a new map named "Inferno". Different reactions were heard from the game's players and fans. Some say it was a good idea while some do not want to accept the big change and end of an era.
Inferno Takes Over Dust2
Dust2 even though removed from competitive plays, has it's very own category now, meaning to say players can still select Dust2 in casual and deathmatch mode.Last year, Counter-Strike: Global Offensive's Inferno map had a little tweaking before being released to players for them to check for any possible problems that the map might have. For those who are interested, they can check out the Inferno's before and after gallery pictures, to prove that Inferno had some repainting which led to Inferno taking over Dust2 on its role during tournaments. DeDust2 which is the most iconic map in all Counter-Strike games will not be forgotten as what the game's fans say.
But of course, since it is the one to blame about Dust2's removal on competitive plays, "Inferno" is the "apple of the eye" of each and every player right now thus making the Inferno the most selected map nowadays. With regards to Dust2's removal, some twitter posts say that this drastic change will absolutely help and provide a good improvement to the game. Some also say that they are already bored with Dust2 and this new Inferno map will make them feel the thrill of the game again.
The teams that are qualifying for the IEM Katowice 2017 professional match, will still play the tournament on Dust2 map this weekend but they will surely need a huge preparation in order to compete in the new Inferno map.
