‘Riverdale' Season 1 Update: Sabrina, The Teenage Witch, Might Make An Appearance

The new “Riverdale” series kicked off last month and it has brought back the whole gang of Riverdale High School together. But fans of the new mystery television series wonder if they will ever see Sabrina, the teenage witch, in it. The gang would not be complete if the resident teenage witch is not around to wreak havoc despite her good intentions.

The new “Riverdale” series stars the original characters from the Archie Comics. But it has given the fun characters everyone know a dark environment with the series being clouded with teenage drama and mystery. Aside from Archie, Betty, Jughead, Veronica and the rest of the gang, Josie and Cheryl Blossom are actually in this series, too.

With characters from their own spinoff comics series being placed in the new show, fans are hoping that Sabrina Spellman will find her way to the small town of Riverdale as well. The creator of the show, Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa said there was a huge possibility that Sabrina will make an appearance in “Riverdale” Season 1. But he pointed out making her come out in the show will be challenging since “Riverdale” is a dark drama that does not have anything to do with magic.

Sabrina, of course, is all about the magic since she’s the infamous teenage witch who gets around with weaving spells here and there. Aguirre-Sacasa further explained that Sabrina’s character is not dark so placing her in the show’s current tone means she’ll have to go through a drastic change to fit in the story. He also added that there was another way to introduce Sabrina to the series but it cannot involve anything supernatural though he really is intent on keeping her identity as a witch so she might just appear as witch different to what is depicted in her own spinoff comics.

“Riverdale” premiered on Jan. 26 and with just two episodes being aired, the show has already garnered positive reviews. The next episode of “Riverdale” Season 1 titled “Chapter Three: Body Double” will air on Feb. 9. The show airs every Thursday on The CW.
