Tactus, which you may remember, released an alleged leaked photo of a polycarbonate rear shell for Apple's rumored low-end iPhone a week ago, has just released a new leaked photo that allegedly shows us the inside of the rear shell of the forthcoming iPad 5.
Though the photo Tactus has released of the rear shell for the iPad 5 might not be of the best resolution (it is a "leak," after all, so we take what we can get in these cases), it does give a few clues as to what might be expected of the iPad 5.
As Mac Rumors points out, the photo leak of the iPad 5 rear shell courtesy of Tactus is "consistent" with those we saw earlier in January.
What makes this new leaked photo of the iPad 5 rear shell special is that we can see, for the first time, the shell's entire interior.
"At a minimum, the photo indicates that these parts are continuing to surface from the supply chain some three months after their initial appearance, although there has yet to be any firm indication on when Apple is planning to launch the new full-size iPad that appears set to carry a slimmer design based on the iPad mini," Mac Rumors says.
Though it is speculated that the iPad 5 will likely be launched some time around September, it's also possible that the next-gen tablets from Apple may come out sooner than that. This is all amid further rumors and speculation about delays to the company's entire manufacturing line that may affect nearly all (if not all) of its forthcoming products — such as the iPad 5, the iPad Mini 2, the iWatch, iTV, the low-end iPhone and the iPhone 5S.
Now that we're actually seeing more parts (supposedly) coming along that show that these products from Apple — the iPad 5 and iPhone 5S at least — are indeed on the way, perhaps the somewhat trod-upon company deserves more of our confidence. This could be true, too, thanks to the leak of an image said to be of the iPhone 5S nano-SIM tray.
The alleged leaked photo of the iPhone 5S nano-SIM tray has shown up on a site via Moumantai, a Japanese parts shop. The trays are apparently "identical" in shape to the iPhone 5S, though they do represent in gray and gold, which doesn't match with the fact that the iPhone 5S is to come out in slate and silver.
"It is ... difficult to place too much stock in these SIM tray photos, given that they are identical to the current design and that third-party versions in various colors are prevalent," Mac Rumors says.
Further evidence that the supposed iPhone 5S trays may be a red herring comes from the fact that we're seeing more and more of these various part photos leaked for what could be the iPhone 5S — but they could also be for the low-end iPhone or possibly even the upcoming (and greatly rumored) iPhone 6.
It's at least, again, confidence-building that we're seeing these parts at all, whether for the iPhone 5S, iPhone 6, iPad 5 or whatever Apple may be serving up next.
