Nokia Lumia 928 On Verizon: Metal Body And May Release Confirmed?

The Nokia Lumia 928 is a highly anticipated smartphone for Verizon, as it will be the first flagship Lumia to be offered by the carrier. We're getting close to an official announcement, and Bloomberg is now reporting that Verizon and Nokia have struck a deal to begin selling the Lumia 928.

There were initial reports that the Verizon Nokia Lumia 928 would be the first Lumia to ditch Nokia's polycarbonate case found on previous Lumias for an aluminum case.

The Verge recently reported that the Lumia 928 would not ship with an aluminum case but with a thinner polycarbonate body because "Nokia was reserving its aluminum frames for its upcoming EOS and Catwalk smartphones."

Sources have told Bloomberg that the Verizon Nokia Lumia 928 will in fact ship with a metal body, which will make Verizon Windows Phone fans very happy.

Bloomberg is also reporting that the Verizon Nokia Lumia 928 will be unveiled in May, which lines up with the "Save The Date" invite Verizon just sent sent out for an event the carrier will host on May 22 at CTIA. Bloomberg's sources also revealed some of the specs of the Lumia 928: "The phone has a metal body, 4.5-inch touch screen, 8-megapixel camera and wireless charging"

The latest rumored specs of the Verizon Nokia Lumia 928 are a 4.5-inch octaOLED 1280×768 display, Windows Phone 8, 32GB of internal storage, 1GB of RAM, an 8-megapixel rear camera with Xenon and LED flash, f2.0 aperture, wireless charging out of the box and a 2000mAh battery. The Lumia 928 is expected to share a similar design to the Lumia 920, but will be lighter and thinner than Nokia's current flagship smartphone.

Bloomberg reached out to Nokia and Verizon regarding the Lumia 928, and both declined to comment.
