Apple's Support forum unveiled a huge number of matte black iPhone7 users complaining the paint chips or scratches easily. Users vent out their frustration about the issue especially around the edges next to plus volume button.
According to 9To5 Mac, the Apple Support Forum has received different concerns of this issue and it keeps on developing, similar to the black iPhone 5 issue. The complaints have been lingering since November, which claimed that soon after the users purchase their units, the device's edges are peeling even if a case protects it.
As per testimonies on Apple Support Forum, the tech giant declined to trade phones damaged along with new ones, arguing that this is not covered under warranty since the chipping is under cosmetic damage. Many users claimed that the anodized paint quality on iPhone 7 is same as what is on iPhone 5.
One of the users said that he brought the iPhone 7 Plus and after three weeks the paint began chipping near the speakers. He thought that it was just dust, however, when he wiped it using microfiber cloth he was disappointed to notice anodized paint chipping. He contacted the customer chat support for Apple, but he did not get the answer he wanted because, as earlier said, it is not covered under the unit's warranty.
The instant cure to the issue is to apply basic acrylic paint from craft shops. However, it apparently will not prevent some areas of the gadget from chipping. Apple explained that the wear-and-tear is normal, but numerous clients affected by this issue report that the paint chipping begins directly after buying.
Many users noticed that the chipping, scuffs, scratches and marks on iPhones tend to be normal for Apple. Recently, the tech giant has no plans to address the issue. The thread on the forum continues to grow, as well as users complaining about the chipping on their units.
