Black Canary just recently joined the roster for "Injustice 2" but NetherRealm is already teasing the next character after her. However, did her inclusion to the fighting game already reveal the upcoming hero?
Black Canary and the New Hero
According to WWG, both Dinah (Black Canary) and Ollie (Green Arrow) share a deep history with each other and she even mentions him during a pre-match banter. Because of this, many fans are hoping and expecting for the familiar archer to make his return to the fighting franchise. Furthermore, one fan even noticed something in the beta that hints to his possible inclusion.
Redditor "Revenant_Sniper" was watching a Black Canary mirror match when both characters said a rather suspicious voice line. In short, the voice lines revolved around both women fighting over one Ollie. For this reason, the netizen proposed that Green Arrow might be playable in this game.
In spite of this, some fans may argue that Green Arrow, along with the Joker, were brutally killed during the first game. Even so, there might still be the possibility of either character joining the sequel as the alternate world versions of themselves. This would be easy to pull off as comics use this method to bring back "dead" characters.
Other Characters to Join the Roster?
Moreover, since both the Joker and Green Arrow have immense popularity and a large fanbase, it would be fitting for them to return to the game. Then again, Black Canary's voice line might simply be a nod towards Green Arrow. That aside, the game's website has included the profiles for Poison Ivy, Bane and Brainiac who might be playable characters, as per GameSpot.
The femme fatale has joined the Society with the hidden agenda of flourishing her flora in the new world. Meanwhile, Bane is still up to his old schemes to take over Gotham while getting revenge against the Regime. Finally, Brainiac has captured Krypton's great cities and now plans to add Earth to his collection after stumbling upon it.
Fans will have to wait for further information regarding the next playable character for "Injustice 2." The game includes a star-studded cast of new heroes and villains like Supergirl, Blue Beetle and Atrocious. The game will officially launch on May 16 for the PS4 and Xbox One.
