American Jazz Singer Al Jarreau Dies Of Exhaustion

Al Jarreau, one of the most iconic jazz singers of his time, has died at the age of 76. The pop and R&B singer passed away Sunday in Los Angeles. Joe Gordon, his manager, announced that the Grammy award-winning singer was hospitalized due to exhaustion two weeks ago. His health condition forced the cancellation of his tour dates and eventually retired from conducting stage performances.

Jarreau began his long and illustrious career as a musician at the age of 30. Among his contemporaries, he was able to shine because of his unique vocal style. He earned the rave of critics for his improvisational dexterity wherein he produces an array of vocalizations from clicks and growls to quasi-instrumental sounds. He traversed the incorporation of pop, soul, Latin, and gospel among other genres. Moreover, he won six Grammys from three different categories. His highly-accessible style veered away from common music which is said to have propelled his commercial success, the New York Times reports.

At present, exhaustion is one of the most threatening ‘silent killers’ worldwide. According to
Mayo Clinic, signs and symptoms of any form of exhaustion may develop suddenly or over a long period of time. Moreover, exhaustion can worsen with prolonged exercise. These can include headache, muscle cramp, faintness, dizziness, faintness, low blood pressure and heavy sweating.

When one experiences exhaustion, it is advised that he must seek medical help immediately. He must also avoid humid places which can trigger the rise of his blood pressure. Moreover, he must keep himself hydrated with cool water or sports drink.

A recent study revealed that one of the most common causes of exhaustion and fatigue among American workers is the constant checking of e-mails. Experts warned that the more we check our emails, the more we are likely to get sick. To avoid the spread of this health threat, the Australian government implemented a law that prohibits companies to burden their employees with after-hours e-mail.
