What A New Nintendo GDC Panel Means For The Legend Of Zelda: Breath Of The Wild

Nintendo has just announced that "Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild" will have its own panel. This will be held at the Game Developers Conference in San Francisco, and will be from Feb. 27 to March 3.

Hidemaro Fujibayashi, the game's feature director, will be part of the panel. Together with him, are Satoru Takizawa and Takuhiro Dohta, the game's art director and technical director, respectively.

Pre-release Events

The event will be held on March 1 and will start at 11 a.m. and end at 12:30 p.m. All of this will take place at the renowned Moscone Center. According to Venture Beat, the panel will be held a few days before the release of "Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild", which is scheduled to be out on March 3, together with Nintendo's new console, the Switch.

Reports suggest that the game will also be released for the Wii U. The Zelda franchise is a proud creation of Nintendo, as it boasts a whopping 75 million games sold globally.

With this, one can then say that "Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild" is indeed a very important game for the company this year. According to Time, "Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild" will be different from previous games as it will feature a more open-feel to the game, where players have the freedom to ride, run and climb in different terrains throughout the game's universe

The Future Of Nintendo

It is also because of this that made the game controversial; having broke the traditional mechanics of Zelda games. It is worth noting that the franchise's first game was "The Legend of Zelda", which was made for the Nintendo Entertainment System way back in 1996.

A few years after, in 1998, "The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time" became the biggest 3D game during that period, which gave Nintendo massive success. For now, Nintendo hopes that "Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild" will experience the same fate, and would hopefully bring glory to the company.
