Rumors have been going around lately that a powerful engine will be fitted in the upcoming Porsche Cayman GT4 RS. It would appear that there is some truth to the rumors as there was a Porsche dealer that actually revealed the existence of a 4.0-liter engine for the GT4.
Porsche Cayman GT4 RS: The Revelation
According to a report from Road and Track, the revelation of information regarding the engine of the Porsche Cayman GT4 RS was posted through Instagram. Accordingly, the Instagram had a caption that said "Due to High demand, a GT4 RS is on its way - with more power and a 4.0-L flat-six engine, this limited model will turn heads," The Instagram post however, has since been deleted according to report.
Porsche Cayman GT4 RS: Decoding The Info
Despite the post regarding the Porsche Cayman GT4 RS' powertrain being deleted, it was enough to reveal a few things about the engine. According to report, consumers can expect a detuned version of the Porsche 911 GT3 RS that can deliver 500 horsepower if the information revealed about the Porsche Cayman GT4 RS receiving a 4.0-liter naturally aspirated flat six engine is true.
Porsche Cayman GT4: The RS Treatment
Reports state that the Porsche Cayman GT4 is scheduled to make its debut at the 2017 Geneva Motor Show. It was also mentioned that if the Porsche Cayman GT4 will really get an RS treatment, the GT4 will be fitted with tires that have better grip along with stiffer suspension system and aggressive aerodynamics. Reports also state however, that there will only be a limited number in production if all the information that have been revealed hold true.

At this point, nothing has been confirmed yet but fans and enthusiasts are earnestly hoping that the prematurely released information will come into fruition.
