WWE News: John Cena Taking Long Hiatus After WrestleMania; To Join An Intergender Tag Team With Nikki Bella

John Cena was reported to be taking a long hiatus from WWE after the WrestleMania 33. The 16-time World Champion is taking a time off from the wrestling world for eight months. This is to give way for the filming of his new movie.

The news originated from Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Radio saying Cena will be gone for most of 2017. However, it is not goodbye for the champion yet, Cena is expected to pop up to defend his title at this year's Summerslam. Sescoops also revealed that Cena is scheduled to defend his WWE Championship against AJ Styles, The Miz, Baron Corbin, Bray Wyatt and Dean Ambrose at the Elimination Chamber. The report further revealed that it won't be John Cena vs. Randy Orton at the WrestleMania and Orton will goo against Bray Wyatt.

Meanwhile, Wrestling News reported Cena would be participating in an intergender tag team match. He will go against The Miz and Maryse together with his girlfriend Nikki Bella at WrestleMania 33. The feud reportedly started when Nikki spilled a bottle of baby powder on Maryse during a down low at the Elimination Chamber.

During his time off, the WWE Champion will be busy filming for movies including "The Pact" and "The Wall." Cena plays the role of an American soldier alongside Aaron Taylor-Johnson in the war film "The Wall." It follows the story of two soldiers which are trapped by a deadly Iraqi sniper, with only an unstable wall separating them. "The Wall" is scheduled to premiere on May 12.

"The Pact," on the other hand, is a comedy movie. It follows the story of three parents who discovered that their daughters made a pact to lose their virginities during their prom night. The parents will go out and do everything to stop them before anything happens. Jonh Cena was cast alongside Leslie Mann, Ike Barinholtz.
