'The Vampire Diaries' Season 8 Finale Comebacks: Nina Dobrev, Sara Canning, David Anders, Steven McQueen And More

There are only less than four weeks before the most awaited "The Vampire Diaries" season 8 finale and things are getting more intense than ever with the battle against Cade. Following Nina Dobrev's confirmation, more familiar faces are expected to make a comeback in "The Vampire Diaries" season 8. They include Sara Canning, David Anders, Steven McQueen, Kayla Ewell and Michael Trevino.

Previously it was confirmed that Nina Dobrev is returning for "The Vampire Diaries" season 8 finale. The preview for "The Vampire Diaries" season 8 episode 13 airing on Feb. 13 featured Kai offering Damon that he can bring Elena back. A report via Spoiler TV reveals Sara Canning, David Anders, and Steven McQueen is returning in the series finale as well.

Sara Canning plays Jenna Sommers, Elena's aunt. She took over Elena and Jeremy when their parents died in a car crash. Jenna was killed to save Elena from Klaus in season 2, however, she was seen in some flashbacks in season 3 and in Katherine's hallucination in season 5.

It looks like a family reunion for Elena, as David Anders, who plays the role of her biological father, John Gilbert is also confirmed to be making an appearance. Meanwhile, Steven McQueen is making a comeback as Elena's younger brother (biologically her cousin), Jeremy Gilbert. He was last seen in the season 6 finale which also marks Elena's last appearance prior to her season 8 comeback. The actor was seen filming with the cast members on the Atlanta set of "The Vampire Diaries" according to TV Line.

Other former cast members popping up in the finale include Matt's older sister, Kayla Ewell as Vicki Donovan, as well as his best friend, Michael Trevino as Tyler Lockwood. "The Vampire Diaries" season 8 finale, titled "I Was Feeling Epic" will air on March 10. The episode was written by series showrunners Kevin Williamson and Julie Plec.
