Some additional spec details have leaked for Google's upcoming high-tech glasses product Google Glass.
The info comes from developer Jay Lee, who was able to access the information following news from developer Liam McLoughlin who tweeted that Google Glass was easy to root.
Thanks to the leak, it now looks like the device comes with an OMAP4430 processor. Whether or not the processor is dual-core is unknown. The device also comes with 682MB of RAM. However, Lee believes that there is in fact a total of 1GB of RAM, with another hardware function such as the operating system accounting for the missing portion. The text files can be seen in Google Drive. It also looks like Google Glass will be running Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich.
While these specs certainly aren't cutting edge, they're not too shabby either for a device small enough to go along with a pair of glasses.
Feedback from those developers lucky enough to get their hands on Google Glass thus far have given the device fairly positive reviews. Some issues include displaying text and joining a WiFi network. However, any device as innovative as Google Glass is expected to come with a few glitches at first. Google Glass is expected to become available for customers about one year from now.
"There will be thousands of [Google Glass] in use by developers over the next months, and then based on their feedback, we'll make some product changes, and it's probably a year-ish away," Google Chairman Eric Schmidt said in response to a question on when the device will be released.
