News has it that the game will come with a season pass, and it will provide players with an expansion of new missions and content.
In a short video released by Nintendo, Zelda producer Eiji Aonuma talks about the season pass for Breath of the Wild, and the bonuses that will come with purchasing the expansion. The pass will be worth $19.99, and will players access to a total of three DLC packages coming this year.
March 3 Package
Come launch day, season pass holders will be able to get an expansion of three new treasure chests. The items are said to be found on the Great Plateau, and they will include exclusive in-game clothing as well as useful items.
Summer 2017
The package coming this summer will add a Hard Mode to The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild and it will also come with an additional map feature as well as a new challenge Cave of Trials.
Holiday 2017
The Holiday DLC will feature a new original story as well as a new dungeon. There's also said to be some more challenges available.
Aonuma also comments that this will be the first time that Nintendo will forage into the realm of DLC expansions, and though some fans are not as thrilled, they do think that the price tag would be reasonable counted the amount of content.
