Capcom has recently revealed a short clip showcasing Kolin and her chilling moves in Street Fighter V. Learn how to make the most out of the character before she launches in the game in a few weeks.
Kolin's Basic Skills in Street Fighter V
PVP Live reports that Capcom has shared a new video regarding Kolin's frosty moves and how to utilize her basic skills. To begin with, her V-Skill is a counter called the Inside Slash that launches a two-hit attack if it successfully connects. What sets this apart from other similar options is that it is a universal move wherein Kolin can counter all ground-based attacks.
Next, Kolin's V-Reversal allows her to escape pressure by sliding away to the opposite direction of her opponent. This shares some similarities with Nash's Sonic Avoid and might be a useful skill. However, it is worth noting that it seems a bit vulnerable to throws.
Finally, her V-Trigger aka Diamond Dust sends a wave of sharp icicles towards her opponent that freezes their stun meter. The effect gives Kolin the opportunity to rush in while their enemy is open. With this in mind, this skill seems to be by far her best asset when it comes to dealing damage.
"The Phantasm of Snow and Ice"
According to Digital Trends, Kolin is an Eastern European fighter who first appeared in Street Fighter III: New Generation. Back then, she was only a minor character, serving the game's antagonist, Gill. Now, her inclusion in the latest installment marks her debut as a playable character.
In line with this, her play style revolves around quick slashes and ice powers. She utilizes the Russian martial art called Systema which turns her enemy's momentum against them while she executes knife hand blows and slash-like strikes. Aside from her hand-to-hand abilities, Gill also provided her with the power of ice which she uses to blast deadly icicles and frigid blasts.
That aside, she will also get her own story which will reveal the finer details regarding her ties with Gill and hatred against Shadaloo. The character will also come with a set of alternate costumes that range from a miniskirt and suit ensemble to a black night-ops attire. Kolin will arrive in Street Fighter V on Feb. 28 and is also included in the Season 2 Character Pass alongside Akuma.
