'Criminal Minds' Season 12, Episode 14 Spoilers: Reid's Case Looking Dim; BAU Investigates Fatal Car Accidents

It's all bad news for Reid in "Criminal Minds" season 12, episode 14. It looks like his acquittal will be far from possible with the evidence pointing to him and his lawyer not believing his statement. Meanwhile, the rest of the BAU team will investigate a series of fatal car accidents.

In "Criminal Minds" season 12, episode 13, one of the BAU's own agent, Spencer Reid (Matthew Gray Gubler) was hauled to jail for murder. Him being a criminal is next to impossible but it looks like his legal counsel does not think that way. It will be hard for him to get his way out.

Reid's lawyer will think he is lying. The promo for "Criminal Minds" season 12, episode 14 teased the case against Reid will build up as the murder weapon was found. The video shows the lawyer was talking to Reid in the prison facility. "The prints in the knife are yours," she said. Reid insists he is not a killer and the lawyer will tell him she doesn't want to work with a client who lies to her. A quick glimpse of the hearing also hints it is not going to go well for Reid.

The official synopsis for episode 14 via Spoiler TV also does not bode well for Reid. It says the agent will get bad news. It is up for the rest of the BAU team to get Reid out of the mess. "We are gonna get you out of here... I promise," Agent Emily (Paget Brewster) told Reid behind the bars.

Meanwhile, BAU will investigate the cause of numerous fatal car crashes which involves drivers and pedestrians. This might have some unexpected connection to Reid's case. Previously, it was revealed that instead of individual cases per episode. The series will feature cases which are interwoven with each other.

"Criminal Minds" season 12, episode 14 titled "Collision Course" will air on Wednesday, Feb. 22, at 9 p.m. ET/PT on the CBS Television Network.
