Recent NBA trade rumors suggest that the LA Lakers are losing interest in acquiring Jahlil Okafor from the Philadelphia 76ers. They are now turning their eyes to another player. However, rumors also say that this particular player is also being targeted by the Cleveland Cavaliers.
Is Sanders Returning To The NBA?
Interestingly, the center of those NBA trade rumors is Larry Sanders. Fans will recall that Sander suddenly walked out of the NBA in 2014 apparently because he suffered anxiety and depression. After that, speculations have been going around that he will return to the league at different points of the season. However, nothing of that sort materialized.
The Conditions Now Are Different
But some say that the conditions now are different. The LA Lakers are in need of a rim protector. This is probably the reason why these NBA trade rumors suggesting that the Lakers are targeting Sanders. However, he is also being linked to the Cavaliers. Although the Cavs have effective forwards, they still need an effective center to round-off their roster. It's unclear as to which NBA team Sanders will end up with.
The NBA All-Star Weekend Is Now Here
Meanwhile, the NBA All-Star weekend is fast approaching and every member of the western and eastern conference teams are gearing up for their respective encounters. And so are the individual players who will test their basketball skills in the upcoming individual games. Here are the schedules for this weekend's games.
The Event Will Kick-Off On Friday Night
On Friday, Feb. 17, 2017, at 7:00 p.m. the Celebrity All-Star Game will kick off. The games will feature the likes of Baron Davis, Marc Cuban, Nick Cannon, Jason Williams and more. At 9:00 p.m. Friday night, the BBVA Compass Rising Stars Challenge will kick off as well and will feature the upcoming stars of the league.
The following day, Saturday will be the All-Star Night. It will start at 8 p.m. and will feature three individual challenges. These contests include Skills Challenge, Three-Point Contest and Slam Dunk Contest. On Sunday, Feb. 19, the much-awaited 2017 NBA All-Star Games will start at 8 p.m. As usual, the Eastern Conference Stars will be pitted against their Eastern Conference counterparts. There are rumors that Carmelo Anthony will replace Kevin Love on the eastern team.
