Carmelo Anthony Replaces Kevin Love In the All Star Game; Does He Deserve The Spot?

Exactly two days ago the Cleveland Cavaliers announced that Kevin Love is out for 6 weeks due to his knee surgery. At the same day, the NBA made the initiative to check on who could replace him in the NBA All-Star Game.

Carmelo Pick Over Bradley Beal

According to reports, the multiple All-Star from New York Knicks, Carmelo Anthony has been chosen to replace Kevin Love in the NBA All-Star Game. The former Syracuse standout will be attending his 10th All Star Game and this year is very controversial, to say the least.

Carmelo Anthony has been great for the past decade but this year might be his lowest. Adding the New York Knicks drama this year, a lot of NBA fans are actually questioning why they pick Melo over other deserving perennial All-Stars.

New York Knicks

New York Knicks record right now is atrocious. They have lost the last 20 out of 27 games and the Charles Oakley incident made it even worse. Carmelo’s average is not even that good this year. A lot of NBA analyst thinks that Bradley Beal from Washington Wizards should be picked over Carmelo Anthony. Even Mr. New York City himself, Stephen A. Smith stated that he cannot ignore what Bradley Beal is doing right now comparing to Melo’s greatness.

The Verdict

However, Knicks fans will agree that Carmelo Anthony has a better stats this year compared to Bradley Beal. If that is the case, why didn’t they pick Hassan Whiteside or even Andre Drummond? Going back to Bradley Beal, he has been consistent for the past two years. Him and John Wall is a beast in the backcourt. Also, Washington Wizards is a lot better right now than New York Knicks.

Again, Carmelo has proven his greatness but its time to give the spotlight to another player who is more deserving for the All-Star Game. Do you think Beal was robbed with the decision? Or Carmelo Anthony does deserve the spot?
