When BlackBerry unveiled the BlackBerry Z10 and BlackBerry Q10 at the launch event it held in January, many BlackBerry fans were hoping the company would release the BlackBerry Q10 first and follow up with the BlackBerry Z10. The company, for whatever reason, decided to bring the Z10 to market before the Q10. This decision was frustrating to long-time BlackBerry fans who had been waiting for the company to finally release a BlackBerry 10 smartphone; they wanted what most consider a "real" BlackBerry: that is, a BlackBerry with the iconic physical QWERTY keyboard the company is known for.
The BlackBerry Q10 has finally gone on sale and it appears users are finding the new smartphone worth the wait. The BlackBerry Q10 is believed to be flying off the shelves in the UK and breaking records since going on sale a few days ago.
Selfridges, a UK store that just began selling the BlackBerry Q10, released a statement claiming the Q10 was its "fastest-selling consumer electronics product ever and sold its entire stock in two hours."
The Guardian also revealed that several sources have said the launch of the BlackBerry Q10 was "leagues beyond" any previous product launch, including BlackBerry's more conventional keyboardless Z10.
The BlackBerry Z10 was a huge success for BlackBerry in the UK when it went on sale and it looks like the BlackBerry Q10 was the BlackBerry smartphone many people around the world were waiting to get their hands/thumbs on.
The BlackBerry Q10 features a 3.1-inch, 720×720 Super AMOLED display with 330ppi, dual-core 1.5GHz Snapdragon S4 Plus processor, 8- megapixel rear camera, 2-mp front-facing camera, 2GB RAM, 16GB internal storage expandable to 64GB with microSD slot, 2100mAh battery, NFC and LTE connectivity.
The BlackBerry Q10 is expected to go on sale in the U.S. at the end of May with a reported price of $250 when signing a new two-year contract.
