Android 4.3 Advanced Versions Spotted Running On Google Nexus 4, Nexus 7 And Nexus 10

The rumor mill has been abuzz with speculations surrounding the impending Android 5.0 Key Lime Pie, but now it has suddenly shifted gears to yet another version of Jelly Bean - Android 4.3. Recently, reports of the existence of Android 4.3 surfaced online and now another report reveals that the unannounced software was spotted running on a series of Google Nexus devices.

"A series of Google Nexus devices apparently running an unannounced version of Jelly Bean have been spotted in Android Authority's server logs," reports Android Authority.

The Android Authority discloses that Android 4.3 was spotted running on the Nexus 4, Galaxy Nexus, Nexus 7 and Nexus 10 in its own server logs.

"We have spotted Android 4.2.2 and Android 4.2 builds in our server logs ahead of their respective launches, so it would make sense to see traces of Google's next Android versions appear with just a few weeks to go until Google I/O kicks off," notes Android Authority.

Three different versions of the Android 4.3 firmware i.e. JWR25C (spotted on Galaxy Nexus, Nexus 4, Nexus 7 and Nexus 10), JWR24B (on Galaxy Nexus and Nexus 4), and JWR29/JWR29B (on Nexus 4) were found running on the Nexus devices per the screenshot of the server log shared by the website.

"We can easily spot a bunch of Nexus devices including the Galaxy Nexus, Nexus 4, Nexus 7 and Nexus 10 running a variety of Android 4.3 versions including JWR25C, JWR24B, and JWR29/JWR29B. We also notice a Nexus 4 running build JDQ39 (Android 4.2.2) which is identified for some reason as Android 4.3," Android Authority said.

Moreover, two other versions of Android 4.3.1 and Android 4.3.3 were spotted running on two non-Nexus devices with the model numbers U8819 and ADR 8995. The first device is believed to be similar to the Huawei Ascend and was running Android 4.3.3., whereas the second model is similar to the Pantech Breakout and was on Android 4.3.1.

In the past, prior to the launch of Android 4.2 Jelly Bean, Android Authority has been on the money and chances of the logs being authentic are quite high.

Recently, the unannounced Android 4.3 was also spotted by Android Police on the Nexus 7 in a web log. When the IP addresses were tracked it was traced to the Google headquarters. The logs cited by the previous report are different from this one and showed the Nexus 7 running build JWR23B, whereas in the latest log it runs JWR25C.

With Google expected to announce the latest version of Android at its upcoming Google I/O event this month, we'll have to wait and see whether Android 4.3 or Android 5.0 Key Lime Pie is headed our way.
